How to prepare during Junior year

Brief answers to your questions:

When to start PharmCAS: I would start it the summer before your senior year at undergrad. I believe it normally opens up in June.

When to take the PCAT: I would recommend taking it the same summer you start PharmCAS. That means if you don’t get as good of a score that you wanted you have time to retake it. However, if you choose to retake the PCAT make sure that you significantly improve your score the second time around. Taking it more than once without improvement does not look good.

When to ask for LORs.: I’d ask several months in advance of when you need them. That way your references have time to write them and it gives you some buffer time in case they flake out on you or the LOR isn’t as good as you hoped it would be. If I remember correctly, you will want to submit your LORs to PharmCAS before you submit PharmCAS to the schools you’re applying to.
