@ManhattanBoro No clue, sorry. TT is the only one I’m aware of where the big K-1 issuers provide a download file.
I have always found the TT import tool to be hit or miss. For K-1, W-2s and other tax forms. By the time I enter the info they need to import, I could just have entered the form info myself (particularly if its a form I had the previous year because at that point you are just updating numbers). But I have only one K-1 (and its my job not an investment) and a couple of w-2s and investment forms. If I had more, the import tool might be worth more time.
So, here it is, April 11, and I get a K-1 in the mail today! Big envelope. It is for KKR (I think they are converting to a corporation, so next year no K-1, but apparently still get one for 2018). I filed my taxes weeks ago. I am not going to file an amended return. The position is small, the numbers on the K-1 are tiny, and I am pretty sure including them will not make a difference in my taxes owed… but sheesh! It’s April 11!
You beat me. I got my K-1 last Friday in the email and paper copy a couple of days ago.
We got our K-1 day before yesterday. After three nags. Forwarded it to the accountant. I have no idea what effect they had, she had our returns finished the next day. It was just the dregs of my parents’ estate.
DS and our sons had K-1s from MIL’s estate. DH and I are had accountants prepare our return, so I put it out of my mind. DS1 used Tax Act software and said it walked him through no problem. All I know is it wasn’t the basic, but none of their versions is over $60. DS2 and DIL filed for an extension (for a bunch of reasons, not just this) and are doing theirs by hand.
The accountants who prepared our return are the ones who generated the K-1s for the trust and estate. We were stressed receiving ours in March, I really feel for those of you just getting yours!
I got a corrected 1099-div today, 4/11, as well as two other 1099-divs withing the past few days AND some k-1s! My cpa has just completed our return and now we need an extension! Argh!
Another point for doing your own taxes, you can be more flexible making the last minute changes.
