My college counselor identified Muhlenberg as a safety for me, and I just wanted to confirm. I’m of the school of thought that no audition-based school is a safety school, so you can see why I was hesitant to consider Muhlenberg a safety— I knew that the audition was optional, but I didn’t know whether it had any admissions bearing or if it was JUST for talent scholarships. Now that’s all cleared up. Muhlenberg’s audition cannot affect the admissions decision (negatively, that is; it can affect it positively by demonstrating interest in the school), so it can be considered a safety.
