<p>Some individual med schools require specific biology courses. You should really check the admission website(s) of your state med school(s) to see what they recommend. Otherwise any 2 semesters of biology coursework with a required, concurrent lab is usually acceptable. (However, colleges will require you to take a year long course of introductory level biology before you can upper level coursework unless you have AP/IB or other transfer credit.)</p>
<p>Genetics, if required, is a 1 semester upper level bio course. Basic genetics (enough to be able to answer most of the genetics questions on the MCAT) is usually covered during the 2 semesters of intro bio. </p>
<p>Physics is 2 semesters of general, intro level physics for science majors<a href=“either%20algebra-based%20or%20calculus-based”>/u</a> with a required, concurrent lab.</p>
<p>Some medical schools have specific math requirements–please check the websites of medical schools you plan to apply to see what they require. The most common requirement is for 1 semester of Calc 1 and 1 semester of statistics. Only about a dozen schools require Calc 2. Harvard’s HST program requires a 4 semester calc sequence.</p>
