Thanks, but obviously if this was DS going in as a freshman I would be eyes and ears up about DS’s roommate. We have a great relationship with DS, his next door neighbor liked to smoke in the room…the kid was/is a true idiot, his room was across from the bathroom so everyone could smell it. FYI rolling a towel up and placing it in the door frame with windows open and fans going doesn’t stop it from escaping. The only reason the RA didn’t was because his room was by the elevator and never made it down that way. Obviously, Shayman’s roommate has no problem with him partying because they name requested each other. However, I will place a 10 will get you 20 bet, that if the RA is on scholarship, they will not risk their life to look away. All you need is one who can’t afford to risk turning a blinds eye. The three that were kicked out of the dorm that I know of were “ratted on” by other people on the floor to the RA. The RA had no choice, but to report them and do a room check.

This not only goes for smoking, but drinking also. There was a child on DS’s floor that go so drunk, the kids sat with him in the bathroom for 3 hours while he prayed to the porcelain god. It came to a point where they started to debate on getting the RA and calling an ambulance. They didn’t, but had that child not shown improvement, not one of them was willing to sacrifice their life for him.

In the end of the day it is not only stupid to risk your own college career, but selfish and inconsiderate to put others in jeopardy.
