How would you spend a day to yourself? (significant birthday)

Waverly - lol!!! Not sure how trainable after 25 years. I will say, he has been better on anniversaries. (25th coming up in June…)

Elle- no murder, but this conversation, over and over:“Did you get something nice for your birthday?” “Nah, I got screwed for my 40th!” BTW, he thought it was a great gift. He had heard me say I needed one and remembered and bought it! He forgot to remember that he ALWAYS tells me to buy household stuff that I need myself because it’s dumb to get as a gift. (I had already bought myself one and used it many times by my birthday.)

Marilyn - I hope you used the gift bags to hold goodies that you bought for yourself!

Birthday free day: NO cooking or dishes or picking up after anyone. So, simple breakfast out at Starbuck’s or somewhere similar. Morning of shopping at favorite stores. Lunch with a friend or H. Afternoon: browsing at a big bookstore (buy some new books to celebrate birthday). Massage. Nap. Dinner out at favorite nice restaurant. With dessert of course.

I would like to spend the day at home – alone.

I used to do freelance work at home, but about four years ago, I got a full-time job in an office with hours almost identical to my husband’s. I like my work, but I hate the fact that I’m almost never home alone anymore. I didn’t realize how much I liked that until it disappeared out of my life.

So what I would really like is to spend the day at home while my husband is at work. (Our kids are both gone and living on their own now, so they don’t play a role here.) And I’m really good at ignoring housework, so that wouldn’t matter.

sleep late and watch reality tv.
