PG, your son’s thoughtfulness is amazing.

Sandkmom, thanks for reminder about Sandy. Lots of tragedies in past year.

Yep, those people tend to end up with back problems and are prime candidates for reduction surgeries.

S1s favorite present was a Sherpa fleece blanket from Costco. (Under $20). Granted he doesn’t have his varsity letter jacket, which was his primary present and should be ready in a few weeks.

D1 loved both of her bags. Took D2 to get the leather jacket she wanted today - after xmas sale and with my loyalist points, we got it for less than 50% of its original price.

PG - very thoughtful gift from your son.

We got a gift certificate to a restaurant we wanted to try from D1’s BF. It comes with wine pairing to a 5 course meal. We are going next Fri.

Pizzagirl, I can’t even imagine how such a gift worked. That’s how clueless I am.

Our best gifts were 1. soft fleece blanket for 4th grader with sports pictures “stolen” off FB :); 2. college branded clothing for senior; 3; I won’t lie: game system for freshman but from grandparents. That’s about it.

Sandkmom, I’m glad you guys are doing better.

Santa brought everyone socks and they were a hit. Fuzzy sock for the younger S and funky socks for the older, plus ski style for mom and dad. We did not do big gifts and everyone survived.

Step-MIL gave me cheap, tacky sweatshirt from Kohls. In size XL which is enormous. I have learned that she shops off the clearance rack, so requested the receipt for “exchange” as if I try to return without one it will have been reduced to about $6. Funny thing is, she left on the tag showing the original price, though the receipt shows it had been marked down 60%.

32DD isnt that unusual really. My oldest is about a 30EE, I used to be a 32, but after several pregnancies ( & a reduction) Im a 34DD.
Luckily youngest is just a D, since she is athletic & they get in the way!

One of our funniest presents was a dog toy FIL bought at Macys. He was sure it would last for weeks. Pup had it in pieces in about ten minutes. ( but will play with the bigger pieces for a while)

We haven’t heard from oldest, but have spent more time with youngest than usual, which is nice. A whole week!

Pizzagirl, I am in total awe - you raised your son well. What a thoughtful and creative young man.

Well, a miss of sorts here. Mr B decided that I needed another gadget and gave me a Samsung tablet - the midsize one. I am at a loss - I already have an iPhone and an iPad, not to mention my work laptop, and it is just too many cats for me to herd! :)

Too many electronic gadgets can be just too much, for sure. H bought each of us one large cordless bluetooth speaker and one the size and shape of a flattened tennis blas. He also bought the kids each a jambox speaker (we already each have one as well). Both kids complained about too many speakers. Am taking back the jam boxes but can’t return the ones H bought.

S bought kindle fire, kindle fire HD, Nook and Hook HD. We already have laptops and an iPad mini. Am drowning in devices and chargers here. Gave the nook to my brother to see what he thinks. I’m thinking he may gift it, but we will see. H has the kindle fire HD and now can watch the Amazon Prime video he’s entitled to.

Really nice present from your son PG. My D did something similar–but not as creative.

She put together music from the 60s and 70s to make a playlist for my iPhone. I’m tech challenged so having her do this was a big deal–I’ve been walking/exercising without music and just listening to stuff I could download easily. She included the playlist with a really cool athletic jacket that I can use for walking. This is it:

[Patagonia Women’s Torrentshell Rain Jacket](<a href=“Women's Climbing Jackets & Vests by Patagonia”>Women's Climbing Jackets & Vests by Patagonia)

That’s a nice jacket! What a great gift. The music to go with the jacket is a really nice touch.

Miss: My FMIL got me a book series I wanted… heavily used. I don’t really care that they’re used, but they were in terrible condition. I opened one of them up and there were pages missing. Sigh

Aww, romani, sorry for the disappointment.
But the good news is that she’s been paying attention, and that she made the gesture. An in-law who does that is a keeper, even if she doesn’t always get it quite right.
