HSSEAS Emails

"Dear Mr. ______:

We have received your application to UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS). Your application is among those which I consider highly competitive. However, it is still too soon for admission decisions to be announced. To learn of the official decision, check the Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools (UARS) website [UCLA Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools: Decision Notification](UCLA myApplication Status) in late March. You will receive an email from UARS when decisions are available online.

The purpose of this letter is to make you aware of an important event for applicants interested in learning more about the wonderful educational experience HSSEAS and UCLA have to offer.

I cordially invite you and your parents to attend an Engineering Open House on Saturday, April 4. The General Meeting, for students of all HSSEAS majors, will start at 9:30 A.M. in Royce Hall where you will be provided with information about the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, UCLA housing, and financial aid. Upon conclusion of the General Meeting, a presentation will be given by the Electrical Engineering Department, after which you will be escorted to lunch and to a subsequent informal meeting with students, faculty, and alumni. Our Open House agenda is designed to provide a good deal of information about the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, its academic departments and programs.

Please visit our website [HSSEAS OASA | Freshmen Open House 2009](http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/openhouse/2009.html) for further information about the agenda, travel information, and further information about the School. We ask that you let us know whether you plan to attend the Open House by using your Open House Invitation ID, xxxxxxx, and the ‘RSVP’ link at the website no later than Wednesday, March 25, 2009. At the website you will also find a map of UCLA and parking instructions for Open House. We suggest you arrive about 45 minutes early to provide time to secure parking and enjoy the short walk to Royce Hall. Questions may be directed to Ms. Michel Moraga, counselor in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, at 310/825-5760 or by email to openhouse09@ea.ucla.edu.

Having reviewed your application, I want to congratulate you on your fine work in high school. I look forward to seeing you in person on April 4.

Warm Regards,
