jym, so sorry. It’s good to be reminded how lucky we are.

Sorry to hear that, jym. Today on radio it said that we all are connected with only 6 nodes. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but the world is really small.

It’s so true that if everyone is well hugged, there would be few violent people. We are lucky to have caring spouses, children and relatives. Sending caring to every node.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Much sympathy to you and your family. There are no words for such a tragedy.

Jym: the national media focused on the profile of the business owner; had no idea who the other victims were…horrible episode; way too many workplace retaliations the past few months…

They are slowly providing info about the victims. Two are still hospitalized. It is so tragic. My DH’s cousin was too distraught to speak to the media.

From what I’ve heard, the employee had MH issues, with escalating paranoia. His family had tried to get him help in the past but he pulled away from them. All the more reason to increase awareness of the need for good benefit coverage especially for MH services.

Sorry to hear your family was personally affected, jym626. Good reminder to stop and appreciate loved ones. I feel sorry for all the families affected.

Thank you for the reminder and condolences for your family’s loss. I’ve been so caught up in the recent illness of a family member and the ensuing financial fiasco that I have taken my DH and family for granted. I need to refocus my priorities, your tragic story proves how life can change in a moment.

My condolences to you and your family, and hugs to all of them, too. And thanks for the reminder.

Thanks, and sorry for your stressors, exmotherx2

So sorry and yes, appreciate, tolerate, reach out every day.

{{{Hugs}}} to everyone here, especially JYM & her loved ones. We ALL need to count our blessings and live each of our days as fully and positively as we can because none of us know what the future may bring.

Jym, I haven’t been on in a couple of days but want to add my belated condolences for your family’s loss. Also, thanks for the way you posted this sad news as it seems that many of us (myself in particular) benefitted from your sweet reminder to be more generous with the hugs.

About 20 years ago, a friend’s teenage son died in a car wreck. He’d left the house in a hurry and she was busy trying to complete some project, so they didn’t exchange their customary goodbye hugs but just called out a quick “see you later - love you!” She really beat herself up over failing to hug him goodbye that day, although other friends and I tried our best to tell her that the important thing was that he knew down to his toes he was loved unconditionally and she had shown that every day of his life.

Recently, dh and I gotten pretty lax about those goodbye hugs with each other. I intend to change that starting tomorrow morning - thanks to you.

Thanks you for your kind words, Silpat. And I am so sorry for your friend’s loss. Even 20 years ago, it must still hurt every day…

jym, my deepest condolences to you and your family.

(I gave Mr B a big hug. “What for?” “For being here with me!”)
