<p>Here’s how they explained it. If you’re not admitted into UHC as a freshman, then you have to show a 3.25 GPA at Pitt to be eligible to take honors classes. There is one major exception. Some students do very well in one part of the SAT and poorly in the other so their overall (CR+M) SAT is not up to getting into UHC. Let’s say you got a 750 in math and a 530 in critical reading and you did well in your AP exams in math/science. You can then go to UHC and they may let you take a math or science honors class but not, obviously, an English lit class. So that’s one option for you and that’s probably the one you heard about.</p>
