Given we’ve taken introductory biology and chemistry our freshman year (along with humanities courses), what should/can we take our sophomore year to remain viable on the pre-med track if we aren’t accepted to Mount Sinai’s program? I was going to take organic chemistry I and calculus I but Mount Sinai’s website states that it prefers students who aren’t enrolled in the former class. If I dropped organic chemistry for the first semester, however, I’d only be able to finish organic chemistry II in the first semester of my junior year. Would it be smarter to drop or keep organic chemistry I? For the record, I’m planning on declaring a humanities major while meeting pre-med requirements, so I just don’t want to fall behind should I not be accepted to this early acceptance program.
