Yes, we heard nothing about this storm until late last night!
H said some people are reporting it’s so big, it could travel across Mexico and into the Gulf of Mexico, while still remaining a tropical storm/hurricane. If so, I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that happening before. But in reality, I’m guessing he heard some speculate… what if it happened.
The storm made landfall at 6:15 PM. Just talked to D. She is fine, and prepared. It’s still calm where she is. Thanks for all the thoughts!
@TheGFG, do keep letting us know how she’s doing. As a mom I can totally relate to how much stress you must be feeling.

My brother is in Mexico right now, but not where the storm is hitting. He is in the mountains. The storm is due to hit where he usually stays, but isn’t there on this trip.

I just looked up Puerto Vallarta on the Weather channel. They are saying 1-2 inches of rain, and 60-80 mile an hour winds, deminishing overnight. It’s not a cakewalk…but certainly better than 200 mile per per winds!
Hope your daughter remains safe, and can get home ASAP.

I have a friend in Puerto Vallarta right now. She’s bored. It’s raining but not dramatically. Let’s hope that that is worst that happens!
@thegfg I assume from the reports on the news that Puerto Vallarta dodged a bullet!! Have you heard from your D yet? Is everything OK for her? I hope this is now just a great story for her to tell at cocktail parties!
Hi all! She is safe and sound, thank God. We are at an event for our other D since early this morning so were only able to text rather than call.
