<p>Graduate Adcoms are not blind. They know that a 3.5 from Harvard is probably better than a 3.8 at a no name state. They know which courses are harder and which are not, and they also have a sense of the teachers who you get recommendations from, whether they are good teachers or not. I’m sure that they look into your app more than just as a number. They definitely take into account the rigor of your courses and such…</p>

I too was wondering that. 72.3% of the grades given at Brown last year were A’s and B’s (50.6% were A’s). A mere 7.8% got a C or lower.</p>
<p>Though it will not make a huge difference, I think going to harvard and applying to Radcliffe will hold a lot more consideration that a Yale/ypsm to radcliffe. The people at harvard will understand the reco from the teachers at thief school better. So yes, a harvard to harvard will help more than Uni of Alabama to harvard.</p>
