I am in an accelerated program with good financial aid, but I wanna transfer. Any thoughts

So, I am currently an international first year student at a small private school in Florida. When I was searching for college, I was undecided about my major, but my current school accepted me with good financial aid. But, I had to major in social entrepreneurship. It was not something I would never study so I just decided to commit and explore.

So far, its not bad, but, not amazing either. It’s an accelerated degree and I already have like 50 credits. Social life is pretty good. But recently, I have been taking classes like justice and civic and all for my summer classes and I have really been intrigued by them.

Obviously, my end goal is to work on social issues and my social entrepreneurship major is helping me but somewhere inside I feel like I wanna explore more, learn more about stuff that intrigues me like political science, justice & civic self, and all. Currently, my degree is intensely preparing me to start my social enterprise or non-profit but I just feel like I am not ready right now. I wanna explore more about stuff that intrigues me and may be later when I have a provoking idea, I will utilize my social entrepreneurship skills/ degree to create something of my own.

I can not really change major because my scholarship would not be applicable if I change the major. Also, the school does not really offer competitive course on social sciences.

I can not even minor in this school as my financial aid restricts me from taking extra classes.

Also, I can only attend any school Only if the school offers me near to full ride.

So, what should I do?

Is thinking about transferring in my case practical?

or are there ways I can broaden my study without transferring or without financial burden? Like visiting students program, exchange program, etc.

Thanks

Well, if you can find another program that provides good FA, go for it. Those are few and far between.

We have no way of knowing if your school allows taking exchange classes (doesn’t sound like it). Sounds like you are taking advantage of what you were offered. When you finish this program, there are always grad programs in political science and justice.

Finish out where you are and make the best of it. Get the best grades you can. Then apply to grad school for a master’s where you can get into your field in more depth. Be careful about picking the graduate school to be sure that it fits your interests. Because you’re in an accelerated program, the extra year for a master’s won’t add a year to the normal 4-year college experience. It can be easier to get financial aid at the graduate level in the right situation because they essentially employ you as a TA or grad assistant.

Be careful about that- many Masters do NOT have good financial aid, especially in the humanities. PhDs do.

But: you are from another country. A US college is giving you a 'near full ride". To get another college to gift you with a university education is not going to be easy.

Okay. Go for the doctorate. You can always drop out. Actually I’ve seen some master’s that do although obviously not as common.
