I am terrified I will get rescinded from UCLA [because IB exam scores may be lower than predicted; international student]

@Flatrestaurant I am pulling for you! I’m sorry you are going through this stress. Is there any downside to proactively signing up to retest now? (I mean other than the obvious stress of going through exam again)? Good luck to you!

Yes, me and my parents are probably going for a double deposit. As far as I have heard, the admissions contract for UCLA is given to every admit, and most of them even if they get a score like 32/33 are not rescinded, just given a warning (at least thats what I have saw under my reddit post by people who were in a similar situation). So the contract is mostly just to ensure that students do not become lazy and stop putting an effort into their studies. Because I have kept up my grades throughout senior year, I hope that a lower IB score than 38 will not be a cause for rescindance. I just wanted to ask if someone from this forum were in a similar situation, and I am glad I did!

Thank you! I’m not sure about signing up for retesting now, I do not think they allow it before the exam scores are released

Thanks! I will know how I did on July 6th (I think), so unfortunately i will have to mingle in my uncertainty for a while…

Scores are released July 6 and the new exams are typically in November with results in December. It’s not really a test, but a battery of exams (6 subjects, each 3h30 to 5h30 in length, divided into 2 or 3 papers) that are given over 4 weeks, with reading days each week.
Resting wouldn’t do much because it’d force OP to take a gap year.

As one who majored in neuroscience (had a different name back then) I can attest that there are opportunities to leverage it into a very comfortable career. Good luck!

What happened in the end? Did you go to UCLA, Wagner, or even… elsewhere?
