As the decision day come closer, I feel super stressed because I have pretty mid stat such as 3.6ish gpa and a pretty mid isee score compare to many insane people I see. What should I do?

Nothing. There is nothing you can do at this point. I know it sucks to wait, but there are no other options. You will probably get into one of them, and if not, you can just go to a normal high school. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Good luck to you.
They are applying to prep schools, not college yet.
Relax - life is a marathon, not a sprint.
Your life won’t be determined by your high school.
I was rejected by a private school after 9th grade - and I’ve done just fine…as will many others from all sorts of schools.
Good luck to you - but where you go to school next year won’t define your life.
Best of luck.
I felt the exact same way you’re feeling last year, and I guess I feel the same right now too. My advice would be to focus on something else. One thing I really regret is focusing too much on getting in, which affected my grades, my personal life, and other aspects of my life.
But remember, GETTING INTO A PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL DOESN’T DETERMINE YOUR LIFES TRAJECTORY!
Just calm down, relax, and focus on something else. Be happy you submitted your apps, since not everyone can do that!
Good luck!
no one this young should be this stressed about school.
Make sure you are focusing appropriately on the option you have. In our case, it was the LPS. DS had to go to orientation there, pick classes, etc. We kept emphasizing that this was an option we needed to consider, acceptances or not. This all happened pre- M10.
The vast majority of 8th graders are not applying to private schools, and they are looking forward to high school.
If you don’t get in, you’ll throw yourself into the option you have. You can reapply to BS next year, possibly expanding your list, possibly as a repeat 9th grader - or stay put.
One step at a time.
Hi- fellow applicant here I think what will really help is if you unwind (like the others have said.) Try something new or find a new hobby (just for fun, not as a serious ec preferably.) Maybe start bingeing a tv series.
I would also avoid consuming boarding school related content. I have said this somewhere on this site before but failed to follow through with it (I am a hypocrite, sry!) so it didn’t work for me but maybe it would for you? I really get the feeling of dread as well. It’s so hard to kind of just let it go (even though we want to so much.)
I think a good thing to remember is you are amazing regardless of the decision. By going through with applying you already set yourself apart from the majority of students in the world! We still have our whole lives ahead of us, and the experience we gained from this process is priceless, even if we don’t get the outcome wanted. Best of luck to you!!
Get off this board. It will do you no good but feed your anxiety. I read some of these posts and I get anxious. It’s all going to be okay. Take care.
hey, best of luck!
don’t compare yourself to others and do something you like.
if this scenario somehow happens, it’s really not the end of the world. i intitally got into none last cycle, but moved on relatively quickly thanks to support around me. no matter the result, keep performing as you would in school. i sent some updates, got off the waitlist in the summer, and attending one of my top choices now.
like others mentioned, prep schools aren’t everything. i would have been very happy to attend my local high school, but i wanted to have 4 years of hs in the u.s and my family would have needed to return to my home country at the end of the year. i still ponder about how i would have been in my local hs:)
