Yea, you can definitely apply to both Oxford and Emory. I think if they both take you ED, then you’re obligated to go to Emory. (Once again, I’m a Sophomore now, so my memory about specifics is hazy).

Yes, people definitely do use Oxford as a way to get into Emory (I doubt many people who were accepted into both chose Oxford over Emory, but I don’t have actual numbers to back that up). But Oxford prepares you very well for Emory, job, and life. So I don’t see the problem to be honest.

In terms of other people’s perceptions… Many don’t like “backdoor students”. A few people are pretty rude about it.

This is now my perception.
The only tough part is trying to make newer friends and fitting in after two years at a different campus. You’ll friends will be mostly Oxford students. Oxford’s a lot smaller so you’ll know them better. And you’ll know some Emory College students from parties. But making BRAND NEW friends after switching is tough.

I wouldn’t have gone to Oxford. I couldn’t stand a small, rural place for another 2 years. (I grew up in one of those and I told myself never again).
