I can't believe this happened again

Donna, let us know how you are doing when you get home. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you to have an uneventful trip home. Get well soon!

My older D once was very ill when she lived in Manhattan, but went down to get a package (no doorman)in her pajamas and bare feet. She thought she had picked up her keys on the way down, but had grabbed her watch.

So there she was, in pj’s, no shoes, and locked out of her place.

Fortunately, it was Manhattan so there was a locksmith close by and nobody really paid any attention to the way she was dressed.

Donna - I think you were very wise to go in via ambulance. The dumbest thing would have been to stay at home!

And definitely stay home tomorrow, and probably even Wednesday. Take it easy.

I’ve hailed a taxi in worse, and that was in Champaign-Urbana, where if you’re not in street clothes you stick out like a sore thumb… mine was after a hospital visit, too… tank top, no support, and pink satin cargo pants! I’m sure in NYC the cabbies didn’t even look twice at your bathrobe. (And at least you didn’t lock yourself out of your apartment NUDE, which is what DH’s neighbor did once. DH’s roommate stayed inside, averted his eyes, and handed her a bath towel!)

Kudos on calling that ambulance.

Will be sending good thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!

I just got home. the taxi-driver didn’t blink. And the doorman was busy talking to someone and didn’t even register what i was wearing, i think.

it is very good to be home and not in pain. i fed ziggy and he’s fine, just a little needy; he keeps doing that mommy pick me up thing where he stands up against me with his paws stretched as high as he can, meowing.

I’m going to see if i can rest now. thank you all again for your kindness.

Maybe the homeless look will get you some panhandling cash to help with that ER bill ;)

Seriously, Donna, so sorry to hear you have had this train of complications, I wish it were all going more smoothly for you.

Glad you are better now and back at home!

Donna, so sorry you are having to go through this…I have similar issues so I really sympathize! When ever my “obstruction areas” seem to be acting up I go on a strict clear liquid diet. It seems to help everything settle down and usually I can keep it from getting to the point where yours appears to have gotten. You probably already know this though.
Keep us posted.

Oh, Donna I’m so glad you’re OK.

Take care. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Donna, I hope all goes well. PM me if you need anything. I have a son living in the Heights who must be neighbors with you, if you need something. I’m only a half hour away in Westchester also. Please don’t hesitate.

Donna, hope you’re feeling better soon!

Glad it worked out okay.

Ziggy probably is feeling a little needy. How dare you leave him like that? He may worry you’re going to do it again. My cat always follows me around for a couple of days after I’ve left her for awhile.

I just love the fact that no one noticed you were in your bathrobe! I want to hang out in your city for a while, lol.

Take care of yourself. Clear liquids and advance as tolerated, right?

I just woke up, feeling tremendously discombobulated with a bad headache (probably the lack of food and water). Had a piece of toast; hope it agrees with me. Still feel very weak. Amazing what something like this can take out of you in such a comparatively brief period of time. It was not an easy thing to go through, no matter how many times it’s happened before. I am considering staying home from work again tomorrow. I probably ought to, even though I have a tremendous amount of work to do.

I know I said similar things last summer when I was so sick, but for those of you in good health, please don’t take it for granted. It’s so precious, and so easily and suddenly lost.

Donna, hope you are feeling better soon. I have exactly the same problem but the Dr’s were able to diagnose mine as a very severe case of Diverticulosis. I have actually passed out from an attack while standing at work. It hit me like a ton of bricks and with very little warning and scared the heck out of my coworkers. I am now very careful of what I eat and watch the warning signs. I hope you are doing well and that everything picks up for you.

^^^^Stay home!!! The work will still be there when you get back! Health should always be your first priority.

Yes, if you are dehydrated, you will have one hell of a headache.

Take care of yourself. And DON’T feel guilty about that.

Of course you did the right thing, and I’m so glad you did! Please, please, go easy on your GI tract, Donna, and if you need to stay home, stay home. The work will always be there, but your health is more important than any of it. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

I can’t say it any better than this. Please stay home and let your body recover; in fact, your CC family insists on it!

Hope you’re comfy cozy recuperating at home! Ziggy will be happy that you stayed; I’m sure he’s worried about you. Take care today, and hope today’s a good day.

I think I’ve slept for about 18 of the last 24 hours. And I still feel exhausted. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. That sort of experience would probably take a lot out of most people, and I’m not exactly the strongest or most robust person in the world in the best of circumstances. I’ve tried to eat a little, but still don’t really have much desire to. Still some stomach cramps now and then. I try not to panic when they happen, but it’s not easy! Basically, I’m feeling pretty down. Like all I have to look forward to in the rest of my life is more of this, more frequently.

I did call J. last night to tell him what had happened. At first he said I should have called him from the hospital, but then he admitted that he would probably have freaked out. He called me today to check up on me. He’s really a very sweet boy. I mean young man!

I’m going to try to go to work in the morning, for however long I can manage. So I’d better try to get some more sleep. I don’t think that will be a problem!

Hope the night went well! Let us know how you’re doing today!
