<p>The wonderful, wonderful USNA Parents’ Club of Northern California scheduled a dinner immediately after the last I-Day good-bye. Before we went, it seemed almost like an inconvenience, but I am EVER grateful to the organizers, who know better than we newbies did. It was an emotional time, and a surprising relief to surround ourselves with others in the same boat (or ship, as we’re supposed to say). </p>
<p>If you aren’t lucky enough to have a Parents’ Club event, I urge you to plan something for your family, preferably with other parents, when you learn the day’s schedule.</p>
