If you do your 2nd year at a California CC, then you would get CA CC priority vs. doing a 2nd year at ASU where you would get the lowest priority in transferring to a UC. Yes, you are looking at taking 2 years for transfer but you will apply Fall 2020 for Fall 2021 admission. If you plan to stay at ASU until end of Freshman year, I would consider enrolling in a California CC for Summer session to get head start on the major pre-req and GE transfer requirements. I would also double check to make sure all units taken at ASU are UC transferable or you may not make that 60 semester/90 quarter minimum by Spring 2021.
