I find the "Argument of Motion" very effective.

I believe in God. Some random group of crazy atheists will never change my faith. Believe it  And no, your arguments are not compelling. Making proteins does not equal making life.

I dont find the need to steep low and argue with the likes of atheists. I have faith and values, and I am gonna stick with them. I find arguing with atheists over my faith is degrading. If they dont believe in God, then they dont deserve God’s grace. I’m outta here.

Just as long as you dont force God’s grace on other people, such as electing Religous Fundamentalists to a school board.

Then why did you start this thread?

By the way, evolution and faith in God aren’t mutually exclusive. There are millions out there who are both faithful and view evolution as a valid scientific theory.

Business_Freak, I find it very ironic that you say this:
“tetrahedr0n, Can you prove that God does not exist? Believing in a CONTROVERSIAL theory that supports man evolved from apes IS absurd.”
Hmm… controversial theory
If I rated the controversy on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the least controversial with the most supported facts, I would say that Intelligent Design is a 1.

Business_Freak, I have one question for you and only answer this question:
Does the earth revolve around the sun?

To discuss the importance of argument of motion.

No need for evolution when there is God.

Use your god(?) given brain and actually think rationally, B_F. Particularly about the “argument of motion”.

Business_Freak… Please answer this question: Does the earth revolve around the sun?

I’m out  . Its degrading to argue with atheists. I dont want to steep that low.

You mean “stoop” that low.

I’m a very strong believer in God, but your arguments are complete nonsense Business Freak. First of all, you don’t understand the basic concept behind evolution. I personally think that evolution could have been directed by God.

The Big Bang took place, life originated through complex processes… why can evolution not exist? Why is the universe and world so complicated? By your logic, there’s no need for complexity, as everything is simple and can be explained with “God is there.” I believe God is there, but that he’s made things very complex. We are one tiny planet in a galaxy several billion times our size, which is only one among billions and trillions of other galaxies, each made up of billions and trillions of stars, which we detect through forces such as electromagnetism and gravity. All of these things are made up tiny, invisible particles called “atoms” made up of “protons, neutrons, electrons” made up of “quarks” and other particles. This hasn’t even scratched the surface.
Tell me: If everything else is so complex, why cannot God bring humans about in a way just as complex, like evolution?

Also, you keep saying that it’s “degrading” to argue with atheists, yet you started this thread (what did you expect, everyone to say “Yes Business Freak, you are correct and cannot be disputed at all”?) You act as if you are above anyone who disagrees with you. By my beliefs, that takes you farther away from God than it does reinforce any closeness.

Business_freak, please answer my question:
Does the earth revolve around the sun?
It’s a simple yes or no answer

Oh, and by the way the thing that doesn’t help your case very much:
Only people who know they are wrong back out of arguments/disagreements

GS, my target audience werent atheists. But its unfortunate when in topic of religions, atheists come in and spit out their scientific theories. I dont believe that evolution was directed by God at all. Why would God direct evolution?

I am going to have to say this again:
Business_freak, please answer my question:
Does the earth revolve around the sun?
It’s a simple yes or no answer

Oh, and by the way the thing that doesn’t help your case very much:
Only people who know they are wrong back out of arguments/disagreements

Same reason he’s made everything else in the universe so complex.

I wanted to talk about component of philosophy, not the theory of evolution.

hopkinslax, why are you asking me this?

Does your religion teach you that it’s OK to judge others? Because that’s really what you seem to be doing with just about all atheists.

Actually yes, my religion is specifically anti-atheist. I dont want to go into detail.

Personally, I find atheists annoying with their scientific theories.

What, because they can back up what they say without using circular logic?

I think that a religious person must not judge other people according to the Bible or the Coran or any other religious doctrine. Doing so is not following what is preached in those great books.
Why try to avoid a question? Answer the question “does the earth revolve around the Sun?” Perhaps Business_Freak is afraid that Galileo comes back to haunt poeple like him.
I have oserved that many Deists and Atheists follow what is preached by the religious institutions without even knowing about it. But “religious” do not. Maybe they think they are already saved. No need to be right here.

Its because it is very important to this debate.
Again:
Does the earth revolve around the sun?
