<p>after reading “The Gatekeepers”- which I think everyone applying to Wesleyan should read, you realize that the decision process involves a LOT of intangibles. you may have stats way above the wes average and get rejected while a person with much lower stats and the same extra curriculars as you gets in… yes, my stats were above average and I got in ED I, but I know full well that others with equivalent apps didn’t. it may be what state you’re from, if any others from your high school applied, your ethnicity, or a personal connection your essay makes with an admission officer that pushes your decision from an “admit minus” or “deny plus” to an “admit” (the rankings of which are fully explain in the book)… good luck to those still waiting and congrats to my potential wes 2010 classmates!</p>
