<p>dawncoming ~ Our yield was actually higher than expected last year. We ended up with a few more students than we normally have in a Freshman class. </p>
<p>I would hazard a guess that Caltech’s yield is somewhat low because our caliber of applicants will likely have very many good choices. Caltech is also a very unique environment, and it’s understandable that a lot of people would decide it’s not for them, even if they’re very smart. </p>
<p>For those waitlisted, there’s no way of telling how many people Caltech will take off the waitlist this year. The important thing to get across if you want to get off the waitlist is that you really really want to come here and will attend Caltech if you are accepted.</p>
