187–not always true–sometimes Caltech sees applicants that are extremely strong and well-rounded and whatever, but that just don’t demonstrate through their essays the level of math/science passion we’re looking for. Those people could be more likely to get admitted to an Ivy/liberal arts school

I said it’s a bad sign. I didn’t say that I’m definitely going to be rejected from every school now.</p>
