I hate buying airline tix!

I love Southwest. I had purchased flights a few weeks ago LAX to BOS. The fare dropped. I called SW and they gave me a credit in the amount of the difference $64!
Lafalum if you bought with SW you can keep an eye on the fares and call to get the credit.

I like Southwest too. They’ve never left me without a flight (knock on wood) unlike *** Airlines and **** Airlines and ***** Airlines.

I did (re)book my flight today. It’s a little more money than the one I cancelled, but at a much more convenient time. I’m OK with it.

I’m with you. I just spent hours booking tickets to S’s college. H is going to be there for business. We decided to take advantage of the free hotel accomodations and low airfare and take the kids there, help S move out and have a mini vacation. Also a good friend of mine lost a child this year–she lives near there, and I really want to visit. All was great until I purchased my son’s one way ticket home. I wanted all of us to go home together, of course. Well, somehow I bought the ticket for him to come home the day we are arriving. Had to call airlines, had to cancel transaction and try again. One way ticket on our flight for him is more than the round trip for us.

You can also check out Allegiant Air for the odd deal from alternate airports, I just got two of us direct from a podunk airport to the Bay area in NorCal for $130 total for people one way. A 3 hour shuttle to a big airport would not result in a fare that low. But beware of all the add on costs!!! Don’t preselect a seat and buy at the airport to save $13.50 per ticket

Unfortunately SW doesn’t fly where I need to go!

I’ve had that $150 change-fee thing happen to me. I had to change a return flight, and got a $99 credit for the return flight I wasn’t taking, but it came with a $150 change fee. After talking to a supervisor, she confirmed that I could just buy a new ticket cheaper that trying to use the credit - the credit would actually ADD $61 to the cost of the ticket. What a joke…
