I hope to enter NYU film department

Not specific to NYU but I attended a presentation recently from ArtCenter in California and it made me think of this thread…sharing in case it’s helpful to OP.

ArtCenter has a well-regarded film program and, I recently learned, that the school as a whole (not specifically film) is >40% international students. They also offer generous merit scholarships, including for international students. Admission is to film major is competitive and scholarships are very competitive but grades and test scores so not play a big role. The AO said there is no minimum GPA and as long as your GPA is 2.5 or higher it’s definitely good enough. If it’s below 2.5 they will still consider you. Test scores are completely optional and most don’t submit. They said that by far the most important part of the application is the portfolio.

So…competitive yes but there’s another option at least that does give scholarships to international students. Still a long shot, I’m sure but just wanted to share in case it helps. Good luck!
