If what you say is true, I think it’s because of some people, claiming to be admits, who joined the group and friended everyone to get email addresses, eventually sending an email to these admits asking for their applications for an admission-prep service. </p>
<p>If I were you, I’d try contacting the group admin. Because I’m pretty sure you need an email to join the network (not 100% on this, though).</p>
