@Divana - keep telling people until they believe you. Tell your parents, your old friends, your teachers, a therapist… anyone who can help you map out how to handle and/or avoid the anxiety attacks.
Here’s the thing - college is hard. Especially if you are going to an academically challenging school the workload is heavy and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Being overwhelmed when everyone else is also overwhelmed can be a bonding experience but since you haven’t made friends you feel like you’re alone. You’re not. It will get better … but first you have to survive where you are now.
Are you still killing yourself to make the grades you made in high school? Or are you struggling to pass your courses? Those are really different situations. If you’re struggling to pass courses, reach out to academic resources at your school and tell your parents! Get help, lighten your load - find a way to make this semester doable. If you’re killing yourself because you believe you are an “A” student and must always get "A"s… take a deep breath, put your computer down and go take a nap. When you wake up, look at your schedule and figure out where you can slack off just a little so you have time to take care of your mental, physical and social health. Put yourself first, not your grades. YOU are what matters and you can’t absorb a great education when you’re falling apart inside. You might even eventually find the workload easier to handle if you can get your overall happiness and health levels up.
