I know this is really petty but...

my two kids birthdays are in may- one the day before the other.
Husbands is this week.
Mine is in October- and I have found over the years that it makes more of a difference if I do something special for myself- that I want to do- rather than expect others to read my mind .
Even if the actual day isn’t going well- you can still take the time to write how you feel and make a promise to do something special tomorrow.
:)

psych, last week was my birthday and everyone around me was busy with our annual fundraiser. So, for the past 3 yrs, I’ve been postponing my bday celebration to the next week. And, yes, it lasts the whole week because I planned it that way - lol. Monday - coffee w/friends, Tues - breakfast w/hubby, Wed - pedicure w/bff, Thurs - brunch w/bible study group, and Fri - breakfast w/school friends…then next Mon, back to the GYM!

Treat yourself to something special - you deserve it!!!

I feel for you, psych! And a happy birthday to you!

My birthday’s in mid-December. Always either during finals or right after. After school, always during the holiday rush. Even if there were birthday celebrations at the office, no one wanted “one more cake” in December. And don’t even ask about all those “Oh, this is an extra special combination birthday/Chanukah present” that everyone knew really wasn’t! Now, my husband’s a musician, so year after year he’s either had a rehearsal or a performance, usually of Messiah, on my birthday!

Oh, well. As Stephen Sondheim put it, “I’m still here!”

Happy Birthday, psych!

I know how it is, you share my son’s birthday and man, it always Mother’s Day or something. No can miss their game to come to a party either, can they?

Otherwise, May is a great month to have a baby.

Otherwise, May is a great month to have a baby.

It beats being pregnant in August, I’m sure.

S’s 21st birthday was yesterday (on a Monday). He had arrived home from semester abroad a few days earlier. How did he celebrate? Dinner with the family. Watched a game on TV. His younger sister asked if he was going out. “With who?” All his friends are still at school, and even if he was on campus they’re all studying because yesterday was the first day of finals.

So he can relate.

Still, we have a neighbor whose birthday is 9/11. I’m sure he’d trade with you.
