A while ago, someone posted a link to Ariat booties that looked awesome…
Between this thread and the Eureka thread…ouch, my wallet…
These …http://www.ariat.com/women-english-footwear-paddock
I have the heritage zip version. They are such comfy walking shoes.
@scout59 Wear it in good health! What color?
Not sure @LasMa - maybe navy, maybe starry night. I haven’t decided yet!
D2 has boots similar to the lace up boots on dietz’s link. Tho the pics kinda look like s-kickers, they are very handsome in real life.
I bought these last year. I was leery at first but once I started wearing them I fell in love. What I found amazing was that I had a ton of compliment from men about them when I would be out and about.

I went online shopping today. I have been looking since last fall for a really long warm coat and have found nothing I liked until I saw this. http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/canada-goose-maxi-coat-mystique?ID=1068612&pla_country=US&cm_mmc=Google-PLA-ADC--Women%27s%20Coats-NA--Canada%20Goose-_-773289341330USA&catargetid=120156070000345698&cadevice=c
I also bought a Rebecca Minkoff tote on sale for $185.
@BunsenBurner, I love the boots on Your second link. I’m glad they don’t have them in my size.
I ordered “Born Pirlo” boots from the Nordstrom sale. I tried linking to them, but after four tries gave up. I ordered brown and black, but will likely take one back.
For a bunch of old ladies…I’d say we are quite hip!
Like emily’s boots.
Ok mavens, an important question. Last many years, I’ve had trouble finding a new dark or midnight blue overcoat, not outrageously priced. (If I find them, they’re usually $700 up.) Can be double breasted or wrap, I just want navy blue, wool, long, not casual. Last one was Nordstrom, lasted years, maybe $300 then. Now the main color seems to be black.
Emily, those boots are fun too, but put of my price range.
Someone’s cat blouse is showing up on my ad feed ;).
I bought these booties during the anniversary sale. They, I hope, will be very comfortable http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/munro-lexi-boot-women/3739893?origin=PredictiveSearchProducts. It’s more than I usually pay but if they are as comfortable as they seem so far, it will be worth the money.
LF, I’ve been looking around for you, and you’re right, there isn’t much. This is blue, but not navy. Is it too short? Or maybe it’s a bit casual? http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/guess-wool-blend-trench-coat/4102656?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=SAPPHIRE&resultback=3699
This one is really good looking IMO, but doesn’t appear to come in any color but black: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/lauren-ralph-lauren-wool-blend-military-maxi-coat/4108848?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=&resultback=9497
I found one store that has really worked for me. Talbots. There are a range of sizes and fits, but once you figure out your sizes and whether you wear one style better, you are good to go because sizes a very stable. It isn’t any more pricey than many department stores, you can go to your own Talbots and try on what you want in a quiet environment, the people are helpful, but not intrusive, and Talbots really guts prices. Also sends catalogs and has good online store/outlet. Beyond that Talbots clothes last and stay nice forever and this years cherry may be next years something red so you can expand several basic outlets. Makes packing easy. Talbots have a reputation for clothes for young women. The one I used to go to was where I ran into my contemporaries in your age group.
Ah, shoes. Try 6pm.com All the brands and great prices with free shipping. Merrill is really comfortable for cranky feet. Karen Neuberger sleepwear. We all should rent a ballroom and do lunch. Talbots and 6pm can cover pretty much any need, at least they do for me.
@LasMa, do you have the link to the thin cardigans I think I remember you talking about in multiple colors? I’m in the market to update my cardigans and I prefer thin cardigans (and 3/4 sleeve - can’t remember if yours were!)
I tried to search the thread a bit but too time consuming!
Abasket, I’ll post the link in a bit.
I looked last night at multiple long, navy coats (on Polyvore)- and every one I liked (so far) was over $1500. I may have to chalk this up as having tastes too refined for my budget. Ha. LM, I want something longer that has a sort of formal look (or can.) I think of this as the quest for a “go to NYC” coat (tho I’d wear it locally, too.)
Due to all the shopping and clothes talk, I am re-arranging my closet. I’ve decided to hang my pants as my H does (by the hem), and arrange all the tops by color (currently by sleeve length). Dang it though that I pulled two things out of my donation pile and rehung them. I love the way they look but never actually wear them. They are on NOTICE!!
