Each time you post on this thread, God kills a Panda.

Its twice as bad this way.

I feel like the perfect score actually can sometimes be unattractive to colleges. I know I sound dumb…but honestly, you’re just another perfect score(would you like a cookie for that?) Just try to get a HIGH score 2200+ and then work on ec’s and GPA from there. People are to obsessed with the “perfect score”, it actually isnt worth as much as you think (=

That’s such a silly ideology, joelyam2. Only 260ish kids get a perfect score each year. They’re few and far between.

^It’s a silly ideology, and completely false. I’m sorry, colleges won’t assume you have no life if you get a 2400. If you manage a good GPA and have strong extracurriculars, a 2400 is definitely attractive. Honestly, that opinion comes up and it’s complete bull. I don’t know whether people actually believe that or it’s jealousy or whatever…but deflating a 2400 unnecessarily is dumb. It’s not a shoo-in. It helps. A lot.

Let’s all get 600s so we have lives.

^Obviously. Because a 2350 is better than a 2400. Colleges DON’T want people who do very well on standardized tests, because having a 2400 makes you a robot automatically.

I always knew that I was a robot, but finally someone confirmed it for me.

No matter how much I want to say, theres no such thing as innate ability, that if you work hard at something you can achieve it…well, theres this kid in my class, he’s real laid back and chill. Does his homework in 1-2 hours after school, extremely rigorous schedule though, he took AP calc in the 9th grade for example, and he always gets a good 8 hrs+ sleep I know he isnt lying cuz there are no brackets underneath his eyes and he always seems stress free. He took the ACT once, no studying, he didnt want to take it at all, but our school made him, he got a 36. Next thing you know, his parents were amazed and forced him to take the SAT, he got a 2400. His overall GPA was over a 3.9. He had 0 ECs, and 0 volunteering, 0 leadership activities, etc. Now he is going to UM-ann arbor, a very nice school, but not ivy.

^Yeah, he SHOULD be getting 8 hours of sleep. Everyone should. I don’t know why someone wouldn’t.

^ just think if he had spent just one summer volunteering at a hospital, lets say 4 hours a day, he would have had about 200+ hrs by the end of summer, I feel confident he would have got into an ivy…
This kids best friend got a 35, had a 4.0, didnt tell anybody his SAT though… was in a couple of ECs like debate, volunteering, etc. got into Cornell! There is an important lesson to be learned here, I hope you see it.

@Baelor- its hard to imagine that someone takind 3 college courses and 3 APs, would be getting 8 hrs of sleep… idk maybe i’m the only one here that lacks sleep because of education…

^Hmmm…I don’t understand. I’ve never had a problem with getting 8 hours, and this year I took 6 AP exams (our school doesn’t offer courses, but I took the equivalent. They’re like AP, without the label).

Granted, I don’t play a sport, but some of my ECs take up as much time as one. But I’m weird. Most people complain about staying up until midnight. I do like 1-2 hours of homework a night (if that) except when I work 6 hours on a paper, then mess around on the internet and go to bed at 10. :p

Wow, people like you amaze me lol. Last year I had an average of 4 hrs a nite. I know maybe i have problems but idk.

^That’s awful! How could anyone do that? Man, I’m going to start a thread on this.

It really is a matter of efficiency with your study habits and homework habits, though. Some people can focus and get into the zone and finish their homework diligently and correctly while others goof off multitasking and complain they do not get enough hours of sleep.

And then there are others who skimp homework and do it at school and still complain.

But I have a 4.0, and it takes a lot of work to keep it u know? This fall onwards, I’m going to try my best to work on speed and stuff. Thanks lolilaughed, your comment was like a slap in the face, that kinda woke me up from a long slumber.

^I know, lol. I have the same problem. But I still love my sleep.

Yea, thats why I love the summer soooo much, I can get 8+ hrs of sleep without the fear of utter failure lol

Check HSL. Thread up.
