<p>My son took the ACT twice to earn his 32 composite score last year. He applied regular decision with a 3.8 GPA and his 32 ACT and was rejected. He did not have legacy or minority preference, though his brother is a sophomore at Notre Dame.</p>
<p>Unless you have legacy or minority preference, I’d certainly recommend retaking the ACT. Come to think of it, I’d recommend retaking it even if you do have a preference; I’ve read that Notre Dame is expecting 17000 applications this year.</p>
