I need professional advice, please help!

The U43JC has an advertised 10 hours battery life. In my experience, real-world battery lives are usually 2-3 hours less than advertised, so I’d estimate the real battery life to be 7-8 hours.

Piece of cake for both. Asking about HD movie playback for the GPUs is like asking how the i5 handles Microsoft Paint. Both are definitely more than enough here.

Unless you get Photoshop CS5, this is more CPU-based than GPU-based. As with the first, however, this is still easy for both GPUs to do.

Purely a CPU application, does not involve the graphics cards.

WoW is in reality not an intensive game at all. I’d daresay both of these GPUs can play the game at medium-high settings (depending on resolution). The M11x’s graphics chip only pulls ahead in intensive games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Metro 2033.

Going to grab some food now, I’ll post later after I search for benchmarks.

I tried putting my old dv9700 (15") in my backpack and it was bulging out like crazy! (This was with a demo textbook, empty 1/2" binder, and a small agenda. I didn’t have a sleeve for this laptop, but it was very difficult to put in my backpack (Standard jansport backpack with 2 slots)

This makes me want the m11x more, but the only thing that I feel is stopping me is the battery life!(lol) [less than the u43]

I don’t know… both laptops appeal to me very equally. I also checked the nvidia gfx page and it had some kind of gfx capability comparison chart about playing those certain games in low, med, high, ultra resolution and comparisons of the gfx cards if they could run it or not. In WoW comparisons the 310 was able to run up to med setting, and the 335 up to med, with a “maybe” in high. I wish I could get some user feedback with the U43 and WoW ! but all I could find was m11x and WoW feedback.

Haha after this… I need to figure out wether I should go sleeve or case!
I probably will use a sleeve for the m11x if I chose that, and a case for the U43 if I chose that.
