I received a letter of recommendation request now what?

do i have a chance of getting into UCB?? They sent me a request for a LOR a week or two after I submitted my app

In my essays I wrote about the passion I have to become a doctor and the struggles of physical illnesses that I overcame. I also discussed my leadership and ability to lead others and help.

UCB separates the applicants into 3 groups: yes, no and maybe. It means that you are in the maybe group. A LOR can only help you. You are probably in the maybe group because your extracurricular activities may be good but your ACT score and your GPA are below the yes group.
