okay, I’ll try out the practice test and see how it goes! i was thinking of using the summer to prepare for it and take it on August 14th. I’m pretty sure the results should come in before the early decision deadline.

FWIW, my son took the September test, and the results were in with plenty of time for ED apps. August will be fine.

I note a lot of colleges tell you the last possible test date for various admissions cycles. For, example, for Rice, if you open up the Standardized Testing tab here:

First-Year Domestic Applicants

It says for ED1 you need to take the September ACT at the latest, and for ED2 or RD, December.
