I was right. According to Warren Buffett higher-order math is useless in finance.

<p>Warren Buffett does value investing, and no, higher order algebra or calculus is not required for value investing. </p>

<p>Ben Graham said value investing only requires basic algebra, at the most, and Buffett said algebra is not required when he does security analysis.</p>

<p>But on the otherhand, time value of money is calculus, so to the OP that says applied math is not required in finance is not correct. Advanced applied math is not needed for value investing.</p>
