<p>I LOVE asking them to repeat it in German! Sadly, my MIL fell for that scam and really couldn’t afford to part with the money. The scammer tried a second time and when my MIL went to Walmart to get the money order, Walmart actually wouldn’t issue it knowing what was up (I’m not a big fan of Walmart but bless their hearts). There’s a special place in hell for folks who would do that to a sweet little old lady. </p>

<p>Tangential to this is the facebook pseudo-scam. Someone makes a duplicate of someone’s facebook page and then “friends” the people on the list. This happened to 2 friends of mine. The first time I though maybe they’d unfriended me by accident and wanted to refriend me, but when the “person” started a facebook chat in broken english and wanted to tell me all about some great opportunity, I asked them to tell me how they knew me to prove who they were and of course they went away. This last time it happened I told them they were scammers and I was reporting them. And I did.</p>
