also IB diploma here.
i think IB is a more holistic approach to education than AP is… and i suspect the admission board over at wellesley are aware of this. i couldn’t find anything on the website other than this:
“…the International Baccalaureate diploma is highly respected and also may result in credit.” [Prospective FAQs](http://www.wellesley.edu/Admission/faq.html)

but i wouldn’t say the ib diploma is a sure-fire way to grant you admission to a “good” college (although it shows you are taking the most rigorous course load, etc etc) (definition of a “good” college varies). i would suggest appealing to your school to cover for some of the testing fees…? at my school if you qualify you can get the school to pay for most of the cost. =/
