“went to Mohonk House which is an old fashioned Catskill resort founded by a Quaker family.” - That brings back happy memories. We were married in Hurley (near Kingston) and spent the first 2 nights of our honeymoon at Mohonk. Then we drove to NYC to take a cruise to Berumuda. This was in 1985 - we sailed back with Hurricane Gloria.

Our 25th was a bomb. We were dealing with prostate cancer and upcoming surgery. Cancer is gone. This summer will be our 27th.

I’m trying to imagine my H agreeing to an Elvis impersonator renewal of our vows in Las Vegas. Perhaps I could kidnap him and make it a surprise. The look on his face would be priceless.

That has got to be the best anniversary gift ever. That’s something truly to celebrate!

Oh, Eddi - you and I should never plan a celebration together. For our 25th the plan was Italy. DH had several VT incidents and his defib went off several times in a very short period of time. We were both reluctant to leave the country. DH went on new medication and just took a trip to Newport and Block Island instead (like we would have found a doctor on Block Island LOL).

It doesn’t matter what you plan, but plan to do something !!!

DH and I are old - facing 35th this year (I was 12 when we married… or so I claim). We have had milestone dates that we missed because we were just too busy to plan. Don’t to that… make time for yourselves.

Spa weekend nearby, Vegas, fancy restaurant, night at a nearby hotel, week in Hawaii, dinner at home cooked with love and the kids are gone and special plates…ideas in every price range.

We did have dinner at Brown Palace in Denver & told them it was our 25th. They gave us a rose & free dessert. It was very nice! We also had a great visit with D in LA, my doc in Denver & S in DC/VA. It was a very successful trip. We may still go to a nice dinner this weekend as well for our 25th.
