Ideas for Apt rental in NYC / Feb long weekend?

I’m thinking again about a NYC trip. I’d rather go when the weather is nicer, but my work vacation oppotunity is winter. Has anybody had recent good deals to share? We need 2 hotel rooms or an apt with 2 bedrooms.

So far the best deals seem to be with Applecore site from busdriver11 in post #17. Which hotel would be best location for a 3 or 4 night stay?

When we relocated back to NYC, my company put us up at corporate housing through Bridgestreet. Look it up on the internet. We stayed for 3 months, but I remember running into few families who were staying there for a week while on vacation. You may want to give them a call to see if you rent for short term. Most people don’t relocate in Feb or Mar, they may have more apartments available. We stayed right at the Rockefeller Center.

I spent 3 days in NYC last week at the Eventi, a Kimpton hotel at 6th Ave. and 30th, for $189 a night. The location (like the Affinia) is near a lot of subway lines - my D works in the Flatiron district and lives in Brooklyn, so it was very convenient for both walking and train purposes. The hotel is terrific: extremely friendly and helpful staff, modern rooms (although not large), and free wine from 5-6 in the lobby. It’s my second time staying there, and I’d happily do so again. The neighborhood is not the loveliest or most interesting, but it’s so easy to get elsewhere from there that it doesn’t matter.

I have stayed (twice) at Chelsea Savoy (23rd & 6th Ave.) in what they call a “quad” room (2 double beds). Clean, safe area, right on a main thoroughfare, with buses and subways right downstairs, and walking distance to almost everything. We have never paid more than $200 per room. I have sent several friends and family and they all come back happy. Have fun!
