It’s worth pointing out that students who aren’t debate champions or fencers or pianists get into Stanford and Harvard too.
You can be a normal person and get into those colleges.

Good essay material. Multiculturalism, diversity, etc. Maybe your parents came from humble backgrounds to pursue better opportunities in the US and build a good life for you. What did they have to go through and how did that inspire you? That sort of thing.
