I could do medium ski lift and London eye but not Eiffel Tower ever. It’s get worse as I’m getting older.

yes, oddly enough, some experiences bother me more than others.
I am not afraid of flying, in fact I LOVE to be able to look out and take in the view. I am terribly uncomfortable in a skyscraper, but I can do it, but cannot look straight down. I HATE bridges, like the one you showed and worse…over water. HATE the Chesapeke Bay Bridge.

<<that said,="" i="" try="" to="" (foolishly)="" challenge="" myself.="">>
When I was in my twenties I went skydiving with the idea that if I could get myself out on that wing strut alone I’d be cured. I did but I wasn’t.</that>

^^^^^OMG not for any amount of money.

I don’t mind flying at all and love to look out the window. Skyscrapers, not so much!

I love those Ferris wheels, and my bucket list just wants me to go to each city that has one…so I can ride it. I loved the London Eye, and the others I’ve been on (Capetown, Ocean City NJ, hmmm…at least a couple of others).

BUT I won’t do anything like a zip line or canopy walk. I can’t deal, with heights when my feet are not firmly planted on a surface and I’m supposed to be walking.

No, I’m OK with heights–H tends to get motion sick, so we rarely have been able to enjoy many rides, even Disneyland, sadly. I was fine with the elevator at CA Adventure–it did drop several times and I did it several rides in a row. I limit my amusement park rides as it’s not so fun to do alone.

I’m ok with heights in general, it’s unguarded edges that are a problem. Managed to zipline by hugging trees. Weirdly jumped out of a plane twice. Had a hard time hiking up a mountain with craggy rock steps. First time I skied with H, he raised the bar on the lift about 300 feet from the top. That was the last time I took a lift with him ;).

“When I was in my twenties I went skydiving with the idea that if I could get myself out on that wing strut alone I’d be cured. I did but I wasn’t.”

Bwahahaha!!! Mr B thought it would cure my fear of heights. So we did go skydiving in Oahu (waving to HIMom!). Wow, that was a ton of fun. I would go skydiving again in a heartbeat if it weren’t so expensive, but I’m still afraid of walking across the Capilano bridge. ;)

I probably wouldn’t be able to do a regular ski lift again; it’s been a long time since I’ve done one, and it was kind of hard, then. So I think my skiing days are over!

When we were hiking in August, I saw many families with young children on these trails. I wanted to call and report them all to DCFS because I considered it cruelty! When we did Yellowstone/Badlands/etc., when my kids were around four and six, I was a horrible, horrible nervous wreck. Interestingly, I can do roller coasters, but my kids won’t. They will do spinning rides, but I can’t.

My brother lives on the 34th floor of an apartment building in Houston that overlooks Memorial Park, so it’s a beautiful view (well, as beautiful as Houston can get). I can enjoy it from inside the apartment (floor to window ceilings across the dining room/living room), but don’t even open the slider to the balcony when I’m around.

Count me in! I loved whitewater rafting through the Grand Canyon but somehow when I’m standing at the top of those same cliffs looking out, all my college physics goes up in smoke and I’m sure gravity is going to pull me and my babies up and over the retaining fences and down into the canyons.
I loved ballooning but get white-knuckled at the local 4-decker overpass.
Humans are strange.

I don’t like narrow bridges. Once I was driving on an old bridge that was two lanes and construction had it down to one and a narrow one at that. My daughter couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to look at the beautiful scenery as I was driving! I also don’t like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel but it isn’t because of the bridges; I don’t like the tunnels. I can do them but I can’t wait to be back up on the surface.I don’t mind heights so much although I don’t get very close to the edges of cliffs. Did any of you hear of those parents who backed off a cliff taking a selfie? I never trust the edge!

Hmmm… any takers on this thread for this?

^Wow!

Seriously?!!!

Any of you done the glass skywalk at the Grand Canyon?

I don’t think the glass for Eiffel or Grand Canyon would help me.

I cannot get past the 4th step on a ladder. Seriously. I have been on a roller coaster once, and that was when I was three. Any kind of height is just pure paranoia across the board for me

Both the Sears er Willis tower and Hancock Building now have ways to stoke your phobia: <a href=“Willis Tower Ledge Facts and Information | Skydeck Chicago”>http://theskydeck.com/the-tower/facts-about-the-ledge/ <a href=“TILT Thrill Ride - Chicago’s Tilting Glass Ledge | 360 Chicago (John Hancock Center)”>http://www.360chicago.com/tilt/

Oh, HELL no, Chicago.
