I found a statistic from 2007 that 35% of graduates double majored. I strongly disagree with @Corbett that students choose an open curriculum to avoid certain classes, quite the opposite. The freedom to learn about Art History, just because, is a wonderful thing to do, not worrying if you have fulfilled a core subject that you have already covered extensively in HS in AP or IB classes.
