I'm concerned college is too easy for my daughter

Many colleges with foreign language requirements specify them as proficiency-based. I.e. the student must either take the Nth semester of a foreign language, or score on a placement test to be placed into the N+1 or higher semester of a foreign language. So a student fluent in a foreign language may find that many colleges with foreign language requirements would not require him/her to take any foreign language courses because s/he would test into a higher level course than the level which is needed to fulfill the requirement. (However, some colleges still do require completing a higher level course to “validate” the placement test result, see below.)

Yale does. Someone with foreign language skill to place into the 4th or higher semester of foreign language still needs to take one course.
