I'm sure this is too early, but schools to apply to next year?

Alright, I have another question. I realized that even if I don’t get into BS next year, I’ll be happy at the school I’m going to. Since then, I’ve been thinking about only applying to a couple schools to really focus on them, since I’m okay with not having options (it’ll be upsetting, but my school is really cool, just not BS/doesn’t have the same opportunities and I guess…feeling?). Is that a good idea? I guess this does rely on convincing my mom, though…

The schools would be CSW and Putney! (possibly more, but I’ll get to that)

Also, I have another question! Have any of you heard of Appleby College, a Canadian boarding school? My friend is going next year and they say that it’s really awesome, and I’m thinking of applying (not now, though). I know some people here are Canadian, so I figured I’d ask. I’ll probably make a thread about it if no one responds haha.

If you are looking for a “West Coast” vibe an location, or schools in Canada: My kiddo has a friend at Brentwood College School @ Vancouver Island - very happy there and the options for academics, arts, recreation are amazing. The setting is spectacular.

If you need FA and are not from Canada, they use a different system than is our US system for financial assistance. It is worth it to actually call them to learn how FA is determined there.

That sounds really awesome!! My parents are thinking of moving to Seattle, so if we do, I’ll look into it! Right now, I think it might be too far away in the eyes of my parents. I will definitely contact them with questions about FA- it’s definitely necessary based on the tuition on Appleby’s website!

Hi, I just got into Brentwood! It has been awesome - they were wonderful! The whole process took less than 2 weeks! Never give up! Apply today and let’s go there together! I also considered the following: Shawnigan, St. George’s and St. Michaels. All fantastic schools and very close to Seattle!

I am really trying to get you to come to Brentwood because I find awesome fit between you and the school, because I find myself similar to you in more than a few ways based on your posts.

I am progressive and I believe in ideals. I am a suppoter/petitioner of people like Rodney Reed who are on death rows without having received just trials. Brentwood says they are progressive and they believe in Black Lives Matter.

Brentwood seems committed to providing professional learning support. They have something called Learning Center. I checked it out and it looks one of the best in boarding.

They have the “tripartite” program, devoting entire blocks of afternoons to art (more than 20 offerings) or athletics. It means all academic classes are over by 1 pm!

So it appears to me that this place would be perfect for a progressive idealist dreamer who works hard, plays hard, helps others and asks for help. Sounds wonderland to me! Plus, they have double number of sunny days than New York does! Pretty nice, huh?

Wow, that seems so awesome!!! I’ll ask my parents if I can apply, although I don’t think they’ll let me until next year (for 10th grade rather than 9th).
