I’m an alto/mezzo, and although I can hit up to a D6, I normally don’t sing anywhere near that range. That’s because I feel more comfortable singing low notes and belting. You might be the opposite. So like JakeRoku said, play to those strengths - show off your voice in a more classical style, if that’s the range you shine in. Don’t worry about belting, at least until you get into a program. Then, you MIGHT be required to learn to belt the healthy way, but most programs need legit singers. I can’t tell you how frustrated I used to get at myself for not being able to belt like Idina Menzel - but after much training and patience, I was able to achieve a healthy belt using my mixed voice. But all too often, young singers strain themselves trying to belt!! Break a leg!
