A minor is primarily a signal of your interest outside of your main area of study. It’d be a mistake to try to build a career around it, even though there’re people who have. College is a great place (and time) to explore, as long as your exploration doesn’t adversely affect your principal educational goal.
I know what you mean. Yes, I want to be an attorney, but I do have a deep love for film. I don’t just ‘watch’ movies (at least my favorite ones), I experience them even on a personal level. I don’t necessarily understand people who say that movies are “just entertainment”. Films such as Schindler’s List, Cast Away, and Saving Private Ryan will contradict that notion, I assure you.
Preaching to the choir. I have a full fledged theater in my basement with front projection and screen.
