Important : which APs for a business major ?

Which APs will look good while applying for a business major ?

Calc BC, AP Stats, AP Econ, and anything else that you can handle but those 3 are, at least in my opinion, quite essential

I’ve studied calculus so calc bc won’t be a problem. Is AP econ manageable by self studying for a month ?

Not essential, relevant may be a better word.

Pretty much what Madaboutx said. Calculus BC is the only ‘essential’ one. After that, just make sure you get ‘rigorous high school curriculum’ ticked off.

^^^There are two different AP Econ tests: Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. You could probably self study one or the other in time before the AP test, but I personally doubt you could do both (you’d either have to be a genius or have pretty insane memorization skills to get both done on time).

AP Calculus BC
AP Statistics
AP Microeconomics
AP Macroeconomics

I’d also add in AP English Language & AP English Literature. Writing concisely and properly is essential for any business-related major.

AP U.S. Government and an AP of a foreign language would be wise as well.

I’d also throw in a science course in there - either AP Chemistry or AP Physics. Business requires the ability to be able to critically think and analyze situations. Nothing will help you do so better than science.

If you’re actually talking about reducing Wharton requirements, then:

AP Calc BC to place out of Math 104
AP Macro/Micro to wave out of Econ 010
AP Stat to place out of STAT 101
AP Foreign Language so you don’t need to take it at Penn

Any of the other ones (science, english, etc.) just fill Gen Ed requirements, which may also be helpful so you can take less classes/have time to explore a minor, etc.

Note that certain AP’s aren’t awarded credit/waiver for, such as AP US Govt…those can be seen as optional more or less.
