Imsa applicant class of 2019

@javascript There isn’t really a passing writing SAT score, as with the rest of the SAT. It just really depends on the rest of your application.

Applications are due February 1st right?

Yes, February 1, at least according to IMSA website.

All supplemental material (SAT Scores, Teacher Recs, and Transcripts) are due March 1st. @isolatedmind

@YoloSwagMaster How do we turn in SAT scores by March 1st, if we turn in the main application February 1st? I’m taking the January SAT so I’m confused as to, how I’ll be able to turn in my scores if it comes out at a later date than February 1st.

You request College Board to send your SAT score to IMSA during registration for SAT. You can do it after after registration too. Just make sure IMSA is on the list of recipients (you can check it in your college board account). It will not be late, they will look at SAT scores the last thing, sometimes in April I suppose.

@javascript Yeah on the “Send Scores to Colleges” button right? I didn’t find IMSA on there.

@isolatedmind IMSA # 3027 Yes, use SEND SCORE button to enter

Is anyone going to the Preview Day January 24?

I’m going, sucks that it’s a day after the SAT.

Yeah, I totally forgot about that. I was planning on going to the whole preview day but it turns out that I have a dress rehearsal so I’ll only be able to make half of it. People who have gone already, is it worthwhile to try and go for half?

Hey guys! I’m going to be one of the student ambassadors during Preview Day, so feel free to come by and introduce yourself! It’ll be great to see you guys in person

Definitely! Would you recommend Preview Day over the 2 hour tours?

@chicagolerd Yes, it make sense to attend certain sessions of your interest. Just check the program. Mock classes are very popular and take a campus tour if you never did. I will try to attend also, but I am 3 hours away and have 3 gigs the Sunday, the 24th…

@chicagolerd I did both: 2 hours tour and a preview day, they both worth it.

@javascript Yeah I have done the two hour tours and prefer IMSA Pre-View Day much more. @priyaluvsbooks Hey! I remember you from last years applicants. How do you like IMSA?

@YoloSwagMaster IMSA’s pretty chill. Well not really. But I love it there. The three weeks off for winter break have left me almost dying of withdrawal from IMSA. Preview Day is honestly really great! It gives you a somewhat decent idea of what IMSA is like and that is quite helpful. The 2-Hour tours are okay but they dont help you out as much.

@chicagonerd I loved mock classes. If you come for 1/2 of the day make sure to do some mock classes, because that was one of my favorite parts of the day. Also I liked the campus tours, and the school tours. Made me really grasp IMSA. The student panel is great, as it helped me relate to some of the students. One of the students talking was in the same conundrum as me when applying, and he shared his story, which made me feel better about my situation. But don’t miss mock classes. They help you understand IMSA so much better. I remember taking Math and Chemistry mock classes and both were AMAZING!!

For the subject evaulations on the application, do they want your first and last name on the invitations, or the teacher’s first and last name? Same with phone numbers and email addresses.

I know it seems like a stupid question, I’m sorry but I just want to do this right.
