@llanaknits Hopefully it evens out. People here have long lists of awards and activities so my amazing 0 science/math awards is pretty disappointing in comparison…
@bubblemaster3000 I would’t worry too much about the statistical percentages. Maybe you’ll be different and go against those odds. Your application is also important, not just the mathematical chance
@llanaknits. I completely agree with the first part, I briefly mentioned it a couple months ago. It looks like a lot of people who are on this chat get in, given they have decent stats.
@bubblemaster3000. Do NOT think that way. Your application is more than just numbers. trust me, that’s how it goes for college apps and IMSA apps.
@coolcatz1 I do not understand why people think I am good. Like, my school is one of the top schools where people apply :(. And my GPA is a lousy 3.8 if I calculate it in IMSA standards. Basically everyones GPA’s here is amazing, and even if there GPA isn’t then it doesn’t matter as they do not go to the school I go to . I wish I could redo my 7th grade as I did not do great then
@floridagators100 … Just to make you feel better:
I got a D- on my 1st semester of my 7th grade because I came to school 1 month late… transferred from another state… My math teacher did not let me to make up for anything, so she just plugged in my D- for my first test and the quarter was over… This math teacher also kicked me out of FLL club … for good, no return- her rules. The second I got a D- for my math test, my life was over… I begged her to let me stay at FLL… NO! … she insisted to kick me out of advanced math class also… hopefully my principal and my counselor both was fighted for me… I stayed in advanced math class and brought my grades to A+ … but this D- probably ruined my life forever! And my IMSA chance also…
I did applied to IMSA as an 8th grader this year… just for a feel of what have to be done…
I will apply next year again… However I feel myself handicapped by my math teacher`s D- …
I probably need to get 800 for math SAT next year to prove I was right…
@ck1012 same! my math teacher rec was having some trouble going through, but i emailed the admissions support and it got in this morning. it’s such a relief, but now there’s nothing to do except wait. ha. ha. fun.
my science teacher turned it at the last minute. I have to press that new “request again” button to get a new form for her. =D> At least I earned how to gracefully push grown-ups to get things done.
Oh gosh, My counsellor and transcripts weren’t registering as submitted so I had to email Admissions, haha. Mild freakout but I think I’m all good now, haha.
Hope you guys have everything in! It’s going to be a fun admissions season!
@llanaknits I sent her an email today so my mom did… no response…
IMSA said they will not deny my application even though my teacher will send the evaluation in a couple of days.
Also, as an 8th grader I supposed to send then my online biology class report. I requested progress report… no response too…
Guys you see how many problems I am dealing with here ???.. Very unfriendly environment… is it just a bad luck? :-?
I can not think of anything… :-/
@javascript the only thing i can say is relax. like seriously.
it isn’t the end of the world, especially since you’re in 8th grade.
imsa isn’t going to deny you for this; it’s gonna be ok.
Hey guys. I am new to this forum (Even though I have been following this for a while now) and I really want to go to IMSA. I submitted my application like the rest of you guys and my teachers/counselor/principal have all submitted their recommendations/forms. I’m not going to lie, this wait is pretty brutal. I’ve been trying to keep myself busy with other activities, but I just keep finding myself thinking about IMSA all the time! Lol. I am an Asian Male from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Good luck to all of you!
